The open registration session on Sunday, November 11th is the time for parents to register their children and to return any books that they may still have from previous years. Please note that if there are any outstanding book returns we will not be able to assign new books to your child(ren) until these accounts have been cleared.

We are asking that all teachers that have been assigned classes and any others that are interested in becoming teachers please join us for the teacher meeting on Sunday, November 11th to get organized and ready for our first day of instruction.

Sunday, November 18th will be the final opportunity for those that did not already register their child(ren). Events scheduled for this date are as follows:

1. An Arabic Assessment Test will be administered to ALL registered children.  InshaAllah all parents that already registered their child(ren) will be receiving another e-mail later this week letting you know the time scheduled for your child to take the Arabic Assessment test. As you are all aware, Arabic classes are not divided by age level. Arabic is divided based on ability.  As a reminder, Arabic at Nooran Islamic School is not being taught as a language. We are teaching Arabic so that your child can read Qur'an. We are not equipped to teach Arabic as a language.

For those parents who have not yet registered your child(ren) your child will, InshaAllah, also take the Arabic Assessment Test after the other registered children have completed their assessment tests. It is important that this step be completed next week so that the classes can be organized and we are ready to start instruction on Sunday the 25th of November.

2. Teachers that are planning on teaching Quran Memorization will attend an intensive training seminar on Sunday the 18th of November given by the Imam.  This training will be going on simultaneously with the Arabic Assessment Test.

3. Children will receive their text books for this year.

InshaAllah, the first day of Sunday school instruction will be on Sunday, November 25th, starting at 9:30 a.m. with the general assembly, through 1:00 p.m. for duhr prayer.
