Asalamu alaikum dear brothers and sisters,
Insha’Allah this message finds you and your families in the best of health and the strongest of Iman. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone in our community, in our state, in our country, in the world in some shape or form. It has changed how we interact, how we learn. how we do anything from this point forward.

Our masjid has also been affected by this pandemic, and although is currently closed, preparations to responsibly reopen are underway in a manner consistent with the State and C&C of Honolulu supplemental emergency proclamations.

The MAH is working hard to open responsibly in order to ensure the health and safety of our worshipers consistent with all CDC and DOH guidelines, recommendations, as well as SEP mandates, including but not limited to physical distancing, sanitizing and contact tracing requirements. MAH is eager to open as soon as possible and will do so immediately after ensuring that all measures needed to comply with the law and with health recommendations are able to be implemented. We expect that there will be major changes including but not limited to a substantial reduction in number of prayer participants due to the mandatory 6ft distancing, temporary suspension of wudu area, prohibition of gathering before and after prayers, prohibition of hand-shaking while on masjid grounds, age restriction of participants, requirement of keeping masks on at all times and registration prior to prayers for contact tracing.

We will post as soon as we have a firm reopening date.

We look forward to resuming our prayers at the masjid as soon as possible and to seeing you all.

Stay safe, take great care and have a blessed day!
