Al-Fajr/The Dawn

In The Name Of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

i know when you wake up
each morning you say:
“it’s just another day”.
you yawn & you stretch
you blink & you scratch.
another day, another dollar,
that is, before tax.
your eyes & ears focus
on the clock as it’s ticking
as each minute passes,
do you feel your life slipping?
WAKE UP

you’ve lost time, which isn’t money:
it’s life; & what’s funny
is whether you give it
or throw it away
it’s gone;
so choose benefit over decay

GET UP


you don’t know where you’re going
or if you’ll get there
& the Truth of the matter is:
you should be scared
but what’s out of your sight
& off of your mind
is the same thing keeping you blind
