DeArmond: Navy Petty Officer in custody, two dead in Pearl Harbor Navy housing

Hull Technician 2nd Class David Allen DeArmond, is being held in pre-trial confinement at the Navy Brig on Ford Island. DeArmond's wife, 31-year-old Mrs. Zaleha DeArmond and her mother, Saniah Binte Abdul Ghani, a citizen of Singapore were found dead in the DeArmond residence.
At approximately 11 a.m. on Monday 32-year-old DeArmond, assigned to the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF), turned himself in to the Navy Regional Security Office. The 13-year Navy veteran told police officers to respond to an emergency at his residence in Hokulani Housing - a Navy family housing area.
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they discovered the two deceased individuals on the second floor of the home.
Investigators and forensic specialists continue a thorough review and assessment of the crime scene at the residence in Hokulani housing area. Confirmation of notification of the next of kin was made late Tuesday.
Three children of the victim and the suspect were initially cared for by the Navy's Family Advocacy Program and were subsequently transferred to Child Protective Services. The children range in age from 2 to 5. The youngest and oldest are boys, and the middle child is a girl.
Special Agents of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service are leading the investigation, with support from Navy Region security personnel.
Autopsies on the victims were performed by the Honolulu Medical Examiner's Office. The weapons alleged to have been used were removed from the residence by investigators. Although a specific time of death has not been established, initial indications are that the victims died in the early morning hours on Monday.
